About LPU
Lovely Professional University or LPU is a private institution situated in Chaheru, Phagwara, Punjab, India. Established in 2005 under the Lovely Professional University Act, 2005 (Punjab Act 25 of 2005), it began operations in 2006. LPU holds multiple approvals and recognitions from bodies such as the University Grants Commission (UGC), Council of Architecture, Association Of Indian Universities (AIU), National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), Council Of Architecture(COA), Indian Council Of Agricultural Research (ICAR), The Institution Of Engineers (India), Institute Of Town Planners, India (ITPI), and Bar Council of India (BCI). In its first NAAC accreditation cycle, LPU achieved an “A++” grade.
The university offers programmes across diverse fields, including business, fashion design, engineering, law, education, agriculture, humanities, and tourism. Admission to the majority of the courses is based on the LPUNEST. LPU has also started few new courses - Bachelor of Social Work (Hons.) of 4 years duration, Diploma in Child and Elderly Care, and BSc in Child and Elderly Care. This national entrance and scholarship exam evaluates the academic performance to check the eligibility for admission to various UG & PG programmes. This offers scholarships of up to Rs. 9.52 lakhs. LPUNEST has helped more than 1 lakh students for admission to over 150 programmes. With 300+ test centers across India and 8000+ scholarships awarded to the aspirants based on LPUNEST performance.
Apart from this, exams like GATE, NATA, CUET, CAT, XAT, NEET, etc. are also accepted. LPU has recently Launched B.Tech CSE work-integrated programmes in collaboration with Futurense, Kalvium, and Quantiphi. LPU hosts over 30,000 students and employs 4,000 faculty members across its 600-acre campus. The campus features extensive amenities such as hostels, transportation services, a university hospital, shopping and dining facilities, banking services, and well-stocked libraries. LPU Hosts Workshop for 2000+ Medical Lab Professionals - A mega medical workshop brought together over 2,000 healthcare laboratory professionals and representatives from more than 30 companies at the Lovely Professional University (LPU) campus. LPU Courses and Admission 2025
LPU offers a total of 46 courses across diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD levels, spanning over 55 diverse streams. These include engineering, management, science, computer applications, design, pharmacy, architecture, and tourism, among others. Popular LPU courses encompass B.Tech, B.Pharm, BSc, B.Des, M.Arch, LLM, MCA, M.Pharm, and MBA. Few new programmes, BTech. (Electrical and Computer Engineering), Bachelor of Social Work (Hons.), Diploma in Child and Elderly Care, and BSc in Child and Elderly Care has also been introduced by the university. LPU has also introduced several new programmes under the BSc Hons programme, including BSc Hons in Cardiovascular Technology, Dialysis Technology, Radio Image Technology, and Respiratory Therapy. All programmes are conducted in regular mode, with annual LPU fees ranging from Rs 15,000 to Rs 7,90,000 depending on the course. LPU has also started some new courses like BSc (Hons.) Forensic Sciences, Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, MCA (Hons.) (Cyber Security), etc.

LPU offers various academic programmes at diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels. Admission to these programs is facilitated through various entrance tests conducted by the university, namely LPUNEST, LPUPET, and LPUTABS. As per the LPU admission process, LPUNEST serves as a mandatory test for admission into B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA, Law, design (UG and PG), integrated BBA MBA, B.Pharm, B.Sc agriculture, B.Sc (Hons), M.Sc (Hons), BCA, and MCA courses. For other programmes, LPUNEST functions as a scholarship test. For admission to BTech courses, candidates need to qualify for JEE Main/LPUNEST/CUET. 1. Phase-1 Updates:
- Updates on Result and Admission Dates:
- The results for Type A programmes will be announced on 2nd May.
- Seat allotment for B.Tech programmes will take place on 4th May, and for PG Agri and PG Pharma programmes on 5th May.
- The last date for admission to all Type A programmes is 10th May.
For Type B programmes:
- Candidates who applied by 25th April and booked their slot for Phase 1 (till 2nd May) can complete their admission by 10th May, retaining the Phase 1 benefits, subject to qualifying the entrance exam.
For Type C programmes:
- The last date for admission with Phase 1 benefit was 25th April.
2. Phase-2 Updates:
- No Type A programmes in Phase-2.
- Type B programmes are categorised into 3 parts:

LPU Scholarships 2025
Lovely Professional University provides scholarships to eligible candidates across various categories. The main criterion for awarding these scholarships is the LPUNEST (Lovely Professional University National Entrance and Scholarship Test). Each student eligible for LPUNEST based scholarship can get up to Rs 9.52 lakhs as a scholarship amount. In addition, LPU scholarships are also based on GPAT scores.
