What's New at the University of Mysore Admissions 2023?

The University of Mysore admission process for 2023 hasn't started yet. Depending on the applied course, admission to the University of Mysore's programmes is either entrance- or merit-based. For the University of Mysore admission to PG courses, it also administers the Postgraduate Entrance Examination (PGEE). The applications for PG 2023-24 admission to LLM and Polymer Science courses are available now.

Candidates may apply for admission to the University of Mysore postgraduate, undergraduate, and diploma programmes. For admission to its undergraduate and graduate programmes, the university holds an entrance exam. Admission to Mysore University postgraduate programmes is based on candidates' performance in the university's entrance test, with the exception of MCA, MBA, M.Tech in Computer Cognition Technology, and M.Tech in Computer Science and Technology. Candidates must appear in the Karnataka PGCET and receive a passing mark sheet in order to be considered for the University of Mysore admission to the MCA, MBA, M.Tech in Computer Science and Technology, and M.Tech in Computer Cognition Technology programmes. Only those who satisfy the University of Mysore eligibility criteria can submit an application for admission to the university. By going to the University of Mysore admission portal, candidates can complete the university's application form.

  • It is necessary to have a NATA score in order to enrol in B.Arch and B.Plan courses. Admissions to the B.Com-LL.B and BA-LL.B programmes are entirely merit-based.
  • Although candidates for the B.P.Ed programme must pass the university's Physical Efficiency Test, admission is also merit-based.
  • The Postgraduate Entrance Exam (PGEE), administered by the University of Mysore, serves as the foundation for admission to all PG programmes, including M.Tech, MA, M.Sc, M.P.Ed, M.Ed, M.Li.I.Sc, MSW, M.com, and LL.M.
  • According to the rules set forth by the Karnataka Examination Authority, admission to the MCA, M.Tech (CCT/ CST), and MBA (General) programmes is available.
  • Admission to M.Phil and PhD programmes are also based on a university-conducted entrance exam and interview. Candidates who have passed an equivalent exam, such as CSIR NET, UGC NET, GATE, JRF, or another exam, are exempt from the admission exam.

University of Mysore UG Admission Process 2023

At the UG level, University of Mysore admissions are offered for a diploma course along with B.Arch, B.Plan, BA-LL.B, B.Com-LL.B (5-year integrated course), and B.P.Ed. The minimum requirement for qualifying is 10+2 in the relevant subject area with a cumulative GPA of 45%. On payment of University of Mysore UG application fee of Rs 300, the application form can be completed online. For B.Arch and B.Plan, a passing NATA score is a must; admittance to other programmes is merit-based.

  • Candidates with a bachelor's degree in physical education or a bachelor's degree in any discipline with physical education as a required or elective subject may also be admitted to the B.P.Ed. programme. The National Physical Fitness Programme Tests of India are used to assess the candidates' physical fitness.
  • Candidates can download an application for a diploma programme from the University of Mysore official website. The properly completed form must be submitted to the appropriate university department together with the requisite supporting documentation and a check made out to "Finance Officer, University of Mysore."

University of Mysore PG Admission Process 2023

University of Mysore admissions are offered in MA, M.Sc, M.Com, M.P.Ed, M.Li.I.Sc, MSW, M.Ed, & LL.M courses in addition to PG Diplomas in a number of areas at the postgraduate level. A bachelor's degree with a minimum cumulative GPA of 45% is required for admission. The grades received in the university-level PGEE are used to determine admission to all of these courses. 

  • Interested candidates can obtain an application for PG Diploma programmes from Mysore University's official website. The properly completed form must be submitted to the appropriate university department together with the requisite supporting documentation and a check made out to "The Finance Officer, University of Mysore." ’
  • For MA (English), the minimum score in 10+2 is 50% (or 45% for reserved groups).

The university also provides full-time M.Tech, MS, MBA, MCA, and M.Arch programmes in a variety of fields. A valid PGEE score is required for admission to the MS, M.Tech (Urban & Regional Planning/Material Science), and MBA (General) programmes. University of Mysore admission to the M.Tech (CST/ CCT), MCA, and MBA (Agri-Business) programmes is granted in accordance with KEA regulations. A valid NATA score is required for admission to the M.Arch programme.

  • Visit the official website of University of Mysore.
  • Complete the application and upload the necessary paperwork.
  • Utilise the online payment portal to pay the Rs 400 as an application fee.

University of Mysore MBA, MCA & M.Tech Admission Process 2023

  • Take Karnataka PGCET and obtain a valid score. 
  • The Karnataka PGCET cutoff is released by Karnataka Examinations Authority and candidates have to meet the cutoff. 
  • Eligible candidates need to register for counselling conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority. 
  • Participate in counselling and fill college choices.
  • Choices should be filled in the preference order and select the University of Mysore as the first choice. 
  • Candidates are allotted college on the basis of category, choice filled and marks obtained in Karnataka PGCET. 
  • Visit the university campus. Submit documents and deposit course fees to secure admission in MCA, MBA and M.Tech programmes.

University of Mysore PhD & M.Phil Admission Process 2023

At the research level, University of Mysore admissions are offered for PhD and M.Phil programmes in a variety of areas. The minimal requirement for admission is a Master's degree in the important discipline. A round of interviews follows the university-based admission exam for selection. PhD entrance exams are administered once a year in September and October. The three-year admission exam consists of a total of 100 points. To qualify for admission, candidates must receive at least 55 (or 50 for reserved categories) out of a possible 100 points.

  • M.Phil. graduates are eligible to apply for a PhD without taking the admission exam.
  • Candidates who have earned lectureships through UGC/CSIR NET, K-SET, GATE, or government/aided college teachers under FIP may also apply without taking the PhD entrance exam.
  • Without taking an entrance exam, foreign nationals having degrees from India or elsewhere can apply straight for provisional registration.

Download the application form, then complete it. The University of Mysore PhD application fee is INR 2000 for general candidates and INR 750 for SC/ST candidates. Both fees can be paid using DD. The application form must be submitted with the necessary supporting documentation:

  • Mark sheets and certificates of completion for prerequisite exams
  • Certificate of transfer and certificate of migration
  • Community certificate (For OC candidates community certificate not required)
  • If necessary, certificates for Special categories

University of Mysore M.Phil Application Process 2023

Candidates who wish to receive their University of Mysore M.Phil application form by mail must write a letter of request along with a demand draught for INR 300 (plus INR 100 for postage) made payable to "The Finance Officer, University of Mysore, Mysore." The demand draught for INR 200 must be drawn in favour of "The Finance Officer, UOM, Mysore" and sent with the completed application form and supporting documentation to the address “Coordinator, Centre of Area Studies, UGC-UPE, Focus Area-II, Vijnan Bhavan, Manasgangotri, Mysore-570 006”.
