IIT Madras is a public technical institute which is situated in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It is an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) and one of the eight public Institutes of Eminence of India. It was ranked 53 in Asia and 250 overall in the QS World University Rankings for 2023. There are a total of 8 courses offered in different specialisations by the institute.
IIT Delhi was established in 1961 as the College of Engineering in Delhi. Later, it was recognised as an “Institution of National Importance”. The University Department of Chemical Technology, a division of the University of Bombay, was founded in 1933 and became ICT Mumbai. The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, granted it the status of Deemed-to-be-University.
