The AIL LET 2026 exam will be conducted most likely in the last week of May 2026 (from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM). Those who complete the 10+2 examination from the Punjab School Education Board or any other similar examination approved by the Punjabi University, Patiala, with at least 45% marks, are eligible to apply for AIL LET. The online application-cum-admission form for the Wards of Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Airforce Personnel, and All India General Category will be released in the last week of March 2026, from 10 AM onwards. The last date to submit the online application-cum-admission form with a fee of INR 3300 is in the last week of April 2026. You will be able to apply for the AIL LET 2026 exam with an additional late fee of INR 1000, i.e. with a total fee of INR 4300, in the first week of May 2026. You also have the privilege to edit your already filled-in application forms in the first week of May 2026 itself. The downloading of AIL LET 2026 admit cards will take place from the second week of May 2026 till the third week of May 2026.

The results will be made available most likely in the first week of June 2026. The AIL LET 2026 counselling will be held in online mode in the second week of July 2026, for BA LLB and B.Com LLB courses. Candidates must attend the online counselling via the Google Meet link emailed to them. Following this, they have to report to the institute in the last week of July 2026 for offline document/ certificate verification and other formalities.

Applicants applying for admission to the BA LLB course at the law institute must meet the following eligibility criteria of AIL LET:

• Candidate must have passed the 10+2 examination from the Punjab School Education Board (or any other similar examination recognised by the Punjabi University, Patiala) with a minimum of 45% marks.
• Those who acquired their 10+2 directly through open university systems and need to have basic credentials for pursuing such studies are not eligible for admission to Law Courses.
• Applicants who want to take the qualifying test in May / June 2026 are permitted to take the entrance test provisionally, with the understanding that their candidature will be cancelled unless they pass the final exams in 2026 with the required percentage of marks. 
• Candidates who pass the compartment papers of the qualifying exam of 10 + 2 later will be ineligible for admission, even if a seat is vacant.
• Suppose an applicant has passed a qualifying examination from a Board / University whose degree is not considered as equivalent to the Punjabi University, Patiala. In that case, he / she must produce the eligibility certificate from the Punjabi University, Patiala at the time of the interview, or his / her candidature will be rejected.
• Candidates whose results are delayed should apply to the relevant Board of Examinations as soon as possible to have a confidential result sent straight to the Principal, Army Institute of Law, Mohali, Punjab. 
• The candidate will be responsible for ensuring its timely delivery. The candidate will be ineligible for admission if the results are not received on time.

The AIL LET 2026 exam pattern details the examination structure, including subjects, question types, and mark weightage each section. Candidates can learn about the test paper using the exam pattern because it is the only source to learn about the test structure other than the AIL LET Syllabus. The Army Institute of Law (AIL) releases the AIL LET application form. The AIL LET application form is only available online. Candidates seeking admission to the BA LLB programme at the legal institute must apply before the deadline with an approximate standard fee of Rs 3000. If they miss this opportunity, they can apply within the stipulated deadline with an extra charge of Rs 1000 approximately.

The Army Institute of Law (AIL) releases the AIL LET admit card online a few days before the exam. Candidates can only obtain their hall tickets online. Those who have registered for the AIL LET exam can access their admit card on the official website by entering their registration ID and password.

The exam will be administered via computer-based testing in approximately 50 test cities. The number of test centres for the AIL LET 2026 has been expanded from 36 to 50. Candidates taking the legal entrance exam should be aware of the following:

• They must arrive at the designated exam site an hour before the exam time.
• They must carry their AIL LET admit card / hall ticket along with valid picture ID evidence, such as an Aadhaar card, a voter ID, a passport, or a PAN card.
• Aspirants must not carry forbidden objects such as cell phones, earbuds, watches, calculators, notes, etc.
• They should follow the exam invigilator's instructions before, during, and after the examination.

The Army Institute of Law publishes the AIL LET 2026 results online. Candidates can view their results by entering their login information, which includes their user ID and password. The AIL LET scorecard indicates the qualifying status of applicants based on their performance in each component and the overall exam. For the admission process, AIL also issues a merit list based on the marks received by students in the Army Institute of Law's LET exam.

Soon after the results, the Army Institute of Law publishes the counselling dates, which tentatively commence in August. Candidates are instructed to submit counselling-related documentation online and to report to the college within the specified deadline. 

The law institute conducts the AIL LET counselling based on the merit list prepared following the announcement of results. Those who are shortlisted based on the merit list must engage in the AIL LET counselling procedure and submit their documents via email exclusively.
