AP EDCET 2024 Exam Pattern

AP EDCET exam pattern 2024 has been issued by the conducting authority on the official website along with the notification for the application form. Knowing the exam pattern will help the candidates have a clear understanding of the structure of the examination, the exam duration, total marks, sections included, and the marking scheme.

APEdCET Exam Pattern 2024: Details

Here are the APEdCET exam pattern 2024 details - 

  • The medium of the AP EDCET is English and Telugu, other than the English Methodology subject.
  • If the candidates opt to take the test in Urdu medium, then the paper for them will be provided in Urdu / English.
  • There are 3 main parts in the examination as per the AP EDCET exam pattern 2024.
  • Part A is General English, Part B has Teaching Aptitude and General Knowledge as the subjects and Part C has Methodology.
  • Part A and Part B subjects are compulsory for all the candidates.
  • Part C allows the candidates to select one subject from the list given by the authority. 
  • Part A and Part B have overall 25 marks each, and Part C has 100 marks.
  • Irrespective of the Methodology subject the aspirant selects, Part A and Part B questions have to be attempted by all.

AP EDCET 2024 Exam Pattern: Methodology Criteria

Here are some critical criteria to be considered for the Methodology Part as per the AP EDCET exam pattern 2024 - 

  • Mathematics - Aspirants with BA or B.Sc with Mathematics as one of the group subjects. Candidates who have completed BCA with Mathematics at the intermediate level as a group subject or BE / BTech degree with Mathematics and Physics
  • Physical Science - Aspirants with a B.Sc and have studied Physics and Chemistry or Material Science or Allied Sciences as Part II group subjects. Students with BCA degrees who had Physical Sciences (Physics and Chemistry) at the intermediate level as group subjects. 
  • Biological Sciences - Aspirants must have obtained a B.Sc or B.Sc in Home Science and had studied Zoology or Allied Life Sciences and Botany as group subjects of Part II. Those with a BCA degree and had Biological Sciences at the intermediate level as group subjects can also go for this Methodology subject.
  • Social Studies - Aspirants must have completed BA / B.Com / BBM / BCA with Social Sciences at the intermediate level or 10 + 2 as group subjects.
  • English - Aspirants must have completed BA Special English or MA English.

AP EDCET 2024 Making Scheme

Provided below is the marking scheme that will be followed while awarding marks to the candidates in the AP EDCET 2024 exam:

  • There will be four options for each question and the candidates have to select the best option

  • The candidates will be awarded 1 mark for each correct attempt

  • No mark will be deducted for incorrect attempts in the AP EDCET 2024 exam

  • For unattempted questions also, there will be no negative marking

  • If a candidate marks more than one option for a question, it will be counted as an incorrect attempt
