There is a reservation policy in BHU B.Ed Entrance Exam. Candidates who belong to the General category get 10% reservation, SC category students get 15%, 7.5% is set for ST Category, PwD candidates get 5% in each category and those belonging to Other Backward Classes get 27% reservation.
Yes, the eligibility criteria are different for different B.Ed courses offered by BHU B.Ed. Students who want to take up B.Ed (Mathematics) must have studied Maths as the main subject in their Bachelor’s or Master’s degree. While those who want to study B.Ed (Languages) should have studied English, Hindi or Sanskrit as the main subject.
There is no age limit to appear for BHU B.Ed Entrance Exam, so candidates can apply for the exam as many times as they want only if they meet the educational criteria. As NTA did not set any age limit, Benaras Hindu University also does not follow any minimum or maximum age limit.
The applicants should have completed their graduation from a recognized university with the main subject. Students must have completed their 10th and 12th. Candidates who belong to the General category need to score at least 50% marks in their graduation and/ or postgraduation and those who belong to reserved categories like SC and ST need to secure a minimum of 45% marks in their graduation and/ or postgraduation.
Candidates applying for the BHU B.Ed Entrance Exam must be Indian citizens. Students who are constituent subjects of Nepal, Bhutan, or Tibetan refugees who landed in India before 1 January 1962 to make India their permanent home and reside here permanently are eligible to apply. Also, those people who have permanently moved to India from Pakistanis, Burmese, Kenyans, Ugandans, Sri Lanka, Tanzanians, Zambians, Malawians, Ethiopians and Vietnam can also apply for the Entrance Exam.
The candidates who want to study B.Ed in Humanities or Social Sciences through BHU B.Ed need to have at least 50% marks either in the Bachelor’s Degree and/ or in Master's Degree in Sciences/ Social Sciences/ Humanities. The aspirant must have studied at least one School subject at the graduation level or post-graduation as a main subject such as Political Science or Home Science.
Candidates need to secure 50% aggregate marks either in their Bachelor’s Degree or Master's Degree in Humanities and have studied English, Hindi or Sanskrit at the graduation level or post-graduation as a main subject.
