NTA JEE Main 2023 FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)

As the National Testing Agency (NTA) is conducting JEE Main 2023 in two phases, students will have a lot of queries on the registration process, pattern, syllabus, preparation, admit card and results. In order to help students with different queries on JEE Main 2023, we have compiled a list of frequently asked questions. Can I appear for both phases of JEE Main 2023? 

The aspirants have the option to appear for any phase of JEE Main 2023.

Is it mandatory to appear for two phases of JEE Main out of four?

It is not mandatory to appear for two phases of JEE Main out of four. The candidates can appear for any of the phases of JEE Main.

Will JEE Main online application portal reopen after each phase?

NTA will re-open the JEE Main online application window after the conclusion of each phase. New registration or fee payment for the upcoming phase is accepted.

Do I have to pay a separate exam fee for each phase of JEE Main?

Candidates aspiring to appear for multiple phases of JEE Main will have to pay a separate application fee for each phase.

Can I pay the application fee for multiple phases of JEE Main at a time?

While registering for the JEE Main exam, you can choose the number of phases that you wish to appear for the exam, and pay the application/ exam fee accordingly.

Should I upload any documents while registering for JEE Main?

The candidates will just need to upload the scanned image of passport size photograph & signature while registering for the JEE Main.

Is it necessary to upload the photograph and signature for each phase of JEE Main?

It is not necessary to upload the photograph and signature for each phase of JEE Main. It is a one-time process.

How to rectify mistakes in JEE Main application form after submission?

NTA will open a window to edit the errors in JEE Main application form.

How many papers can I choose in JEE Main?

The candidates have the option to choose Paper 1 (B.Tech), Paper 2A (B.Tech) and Paper 2B (B.Arch). The candidates can appear for either one paper or three.

I have passed Class 12th in 2020. Can I appear for JEE Main and JEE Advanced?

Candidates who have cleared Class 12th in 2020 are eligible to appear for JEE Main only.

I do not have an Aadhaar card. Which document should I carry on the exam day as proof of identification?

If you do not have an Aadhaar card, you can carry any identity proof approved by the Government of India such as a Ration Card/ Driving License (if you have one).

Does NTA release a separate admit card for each phase of JEE Main?

NTA releases a separate admit card for each phase of JEE Main.
