The JNU Combined Entrance Exam for Biotechnology is a national level examination which takes place every year for the aspirants of postgraduate Biotech and related courses. Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) releases the Exam Pattern for the aspirants appearing in the examination. Eventually, no major changes have been made in the exam pattern in the past few years. However, we will notify the exam pattern for JNU CEEB once it is released officially. Meanwhile, the candidates can check out the Previous Years’ Question Papers to understand the Exam Pattern in detail. Details of the JNU CEEB 2021 Exam Pattern

For M.Sc.(Agri.) Biotechnology & M.V.Sc. Programmes:

The question paper for the entrance examination will be of 3 hours duration and will have two parts: PART A and PART B.

Part A:

• There are 60 multiple choice type (MCQs) questions at the level of 10+2 in the subjects:
  • Physics,
  • Chemistry,
  • Mathematics,  
  • Biology.
• The total marks for Part A will be 60 marks.

• Every correct answer will be awarded 1 mark.

• There will be negative marking and for each wrong answer, the ½ mark will be deducted.

Part B :

• There will be 100 multiple choice questions out of which the candidates will have to attempt 60 questions.

• The total marks for Part B will be 180 Marks.

• Every correct answer will be awarded 3 marks.

• There will be negative marking and for each wrong answer, 1 mark will be deducted.

For M.Sc. Biotechnology Programme

The question paper for the Entrance Examination will be of 3 hours duration and divided into two parts:

Part-A :

• There are 60 multiple choice type questions at the level of 10+2 in the subjects:
  • Physics,
  • Chemistry,
  • Mathematics
  • Biology.
• The total marks for Part A will be 60 marks.

• Every correct answer will be awarded as 1 marks.

• There will be negative marking and for each wrong answer, the ½ mark will be deducted.

Part-B :

There are 60 multiple-choice questions at the Graduation level requiring thinking and analysis.

• There will be questions from
  • Physics,
  • Mathematics,
  • Biology (e.g., Botany, Zoology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Genetics and Molecular Biology)
  • Chemistry.
• The total marks for Part B will be 180 Marks.

• Every correct answer will be awarded 3 marks.

• There will be negative marking and for each wrong answer, 1 mark will be deducted.

For M.Tech. Biotechnology Programme:

The question paper will be of 3 hours duration consisting of two programmes:

• Technology /Engineering Programmes and

• Life Sciences Programme
