NMAT admissions are facilitated by GMAC upon successful registration completion. Subsequently, candidates can schedule their exams. Utilizing the exam scheduling feature, candidates must specify their preferred date and city to proceed. Scheduling represents the sole method for exam participation, accessible via the NMAT login dashboard.

• Step 1: Begin by visiting the NMAT online registration page (register.nmat.org) and creating an account using a valid email ID and other required personal details.
• Step 2: Upon account creation, access your email inbox, locate the verification link sent by GMAC, and complete the sign-up process for NMAT 2025.
• Step 3: Provide essential personal information, academic qualifications, and work experience details, and select your preferred MBA courses from the list of colleges accepting NMAT scores. You can choose up to five courses and B-schools. Additionally, indicate your preferred test cities and enter a valid identification number (such as Aadhaar, PAN, Driving License, etc.).
• Step 4: Ensure your photograph and digital signature are scanned and uploaded according to the specified resolution (maximum 1 MB) and format (JPG/JPEG, PNG, GIF) outlined by GMAC.

Academic Qualification

• Students should have completed their graduation under the 10+2+3 or four-year education pattern from any stream from a UGC/AICTE-recognised institute or equivalent.
• Candidates who are awaiting results or are in their final year of graduation are also eligible to apply for the exam. 
• Admission is granted on a provisional basis until the graduation mark sheet and certificate of the qualifying examination are submitted.

Minimum Aggregate: Candidates should have scored at least 50% in their graduation to be eligible for the exam

Nationality: There are no nationality criteria.

Age Limit: There is no age limit barrier.

Work Experience: Work Experience is not mandatory.

Maximum Attempts: 3 times, i.e. one examination attempt and two retakes.

NMAT 2025 will consist of 3 sections - Language skills, Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Skills. Students have the privilege to choose the order in which they wish to attempt the paper, and there is an individual time limit for each section. GMAC evaluates the performance of candidates based on the marking scheme mentioned below:

• 3 marks are awarded for every correct objective-type question.
• In case of any wrong attempt, no marks will be deducted.
• There is also no negative marking for unattempted questions.

Note: Once a student has finished a particular section, all answers are considered final. There is no facility to go back and change the answers.

Students who have completed their NMAT registration can download the NMAT 2025 admit card once it is available on the official website. You can also book the exam slot of your choice. GMAC generally releases the admit card 24 hours after the successful registration and completion of payment of the exam fee.

The admit card is a document that contains a candidate’s registration details and photograph. Candidates are required to carry and furnish the hard copy of their NMAT Admit Card 2025 along with their government-issued ID. ID proof at the exam centre on the exam date. Candidates can check the NMAT result 2025 on the official website by logging in using their credentials. NMAT 2024 test-takers will be able to check their scores and download the scorecards within 48 hours or 2 days of appearing in the exam. After the release of the NMAT by GMAC results, candidates can check their scorecard. You can download the result card for future reference. 

The official NMAT 2025 mark sheet will comprise two scores - an individual sectional scaled & overall score, and the percentile of a candidate. Calculation of the scaled score is done before calculating the final percentile. The final percentile score is calculated based on the scaled score, and it is updated in the official scorecard and sent to B-schools.

NMAT 2025 cutoff marks are different for every participating institute, depending on the difficulty level of the exam, the vacancies in the course, and the average performance of the students. The NMAT 2025 cutoffs in top MBA colleges in India, like XIMB, K J Somaiya, and VIT, are significantly high in the range of 92-96 percentiles. NMAT cutoff marks range from 150 to 200, and certain institutes will give preference to sectional cutoffs in addition to the overall cutoff. The NMAT 2025 selection process will begin after the declaration of cutoffs. GMAC is not responsible for carrying out a centralised admission process. Every participating institute has its own selection process and admission criteria.

• The NMAT 2025 selection process will include GD-PI rounds and the newly introduced Competency Test. 

• Candidates who clear the minimum sectional and overall cutoffs will be shortlisted to appear for the GD-PI rounds.

• After the conduct of the selection process rounds, the final merit list will be prepared based on various parameters: NMAT 2025 score, GD-PI scores, work experience, past academic scores, competency test, and gender diversity.

• The decision of final admission is based on the combined performance in the NMAT 2025 and GD-PI round.

NMIMS NMAT MBA Competency Test

Since the competency test introduced by NMIMS is new to the selection process, check the salient features of this test mentioned below:

• It is a self-timed test, and the total time you are given is 45 minutes after reading the instructions. A server clock does the timekeeping.
• There are a total of 3 sections, including Verbal Ability, Mental Ability, and Managerial Ability, with 9, 6, and 5 questions, respectively. Each question carries 3 marks.
• There are 4 alternative answers for each question, of which only one is correct. There is no sectional time limit or restrictions.
• A negative marking of 1 is there for each incorrect answer and no negative marking for unanswered questions.
• Answers will be submitted automatically at the end of 45 minutes if the submit button is not pressed.

Candidates will be allowed to take the NMAT 2025 exam a maximum of three times. This includes the first attempt plus a maximum of two retake attempts. No-shows are considered attempts. The retake registration option will be enabled in the dashboard after the exam date. Candidates need to register for the retake by simply clicking on the Retake section, selecting the exam mode, and paying the retake fees.

The retake can be scheduled after the completion of a scheduled attempt, and the retake exam can only be taken after a gap of 15 days from the previous attempt. Candidates can book a retake only after taking the previous attempt. Retake attempts are booked on first cum first basis and subject to seat availability on the scheduled date and slot. Rescheduling of the NMAT exam is also available up to 72 hours before the original NMAT exam date. Also, you will be required to pay the retake fees per attempt, which is INR 3000.
