PU UGLAW 2024: Exam Date, Registration (Ongoing), Pattern, Syllabus, Preparation

Candidates seeking admission to the UG courses have to appear for the PU UGLAW 2024 exam. All the important dates regarding the exam are provided below -

The PU UGLAW 2024 eligibility criteria outline the minimum requirements that a candidate must meet to be considered for admission to the offered law programmes at Panjab University. Applicants must clear or appear 10+2 examination of the CBSE in March 2024, or any equivalent qualification from a recognised Council or Board will be able to appear for PU UGLAW 2024.

The admission shall be provisional and will be cancelled if the aspirant fails to match the requisites by the admission date. The applicants must have achieved at least 50% marks in the 10+2 exam. Those who are from SC / ST / BC / PwD can need a minimum of 45% marks in the qualifying examination.

The PU UGLAW application form 2024 can be filled out by following the below steps -

Step 1 - PU UGLAW 2024 Online Registration

In this step, candidates must finish the online registration process. Once they submit the details on the website, and complete this step, they will get their login ID and password. The login credentials will be sent to their respective email addresses as well.

Step 2 - Pay the PU UGLAW 2024 Application Fee

Once the applicants have their login information, they must log in to the portal and pay the fee online.

Step 3 - Form Completion

After paying the application fee, the aspirants have to log in again to complete their application form by uploading their scanned signature and photograph along with the data asked in the form. Once they submit the form, the candidates will not be allowed to edit any fields in the application form.

Step 4 - Send the print of the application form (Only for SC / ST / PwD / PU Employee)

Applicants from the SC / ST / PwD / PU Employee who want to have the application fee exemption must dispatch their PU UGLAW 2024 application form printout along with the self-attested copy of the relevant category certificate to the university via registered or speed post before the specified date as per the application schedule.

To gain a better understanding of the exam, the candidates need to familiarise themselves with the PU UGLAW 2024 exam pattern. The exam is designed within 1.5 hours and is worth a total of 100 marks. The question paper will be in Hindi, English, and Punjabi medium, barring the Proficiency in English Language section.

The exam is conducted offline in OMR-based mode, and it consists of four sections. Each question in the exam carries 1 mark, and there are 100 questions in total. However, any wrong answers will get 1/4th deducted. The mark allocation for each section is as follows -

The conducting university provides only the broad sections to be studied for the PU UGLAW 2024 syllabus. The PU UGLAW 2024 syllabus is as follows -

To appear for the PU UGLAW 2024 exam, candidates must present their admit cards at the centre. Carrying the PU UGLAW 2024 admit card to the test centre on the exam day is mandatory and aspirants will not be allowed to enter the exam venue under any circumstances. The candidates must preserve the hall ticket with them until the admission process concludes.

Admit cards are issued provisionally to the applicant and if they are found later on to be ineligible, the result of the candidate will be cancelled and may face further consequences as decided by the conducting authority. Meeting the eligibility conditions is solely the aspirant’s responsibility and the university is not accountable in any way.

PU UGLAW 2024 answer key and the question papers will be posted on the university’s webpage at exams.puchd.ac.in/show-noticeboard.php., a few days after the test is held. Candidates will be given a few days to place their objections via email to arcet@pu.ac.in regarding any errors they see in the answer key as per the schedule. If the concerns are found valid, they will be considered during evaluation.

PU UGLAW 2024 results will be published on the university’s homepage and at the Enquiry Office. The conducting body will not entertain any requests regarding re-evaluation / re-checking / re-assessment of the OMR Answer Sheet.

However, if any applicant wants their result to be verified, they will be given a replica of their answer sheet on pay Rs 10,000 within ten days after the result declaration. The procedure will be completed by the exam cell within 3 working days. If a discrepancy is noticed in the candidate’s result, the authorities will revise the result and the verification fee will be reimbursed.

Candidates who are selected for the preliminary PU UGLAW merit list can fill out the admission form. Once the aspirants complete the admission form, then as per the merit of the aspirants, the final merit list / final seat allotment for the BA LLB and B.Com LLB degree programmes under PU UGLAW will be announced.

The final merit list is published based on 50% weightage of the entrance exam score, and the rest 50% weightage is given to the marks of the qualifying examination. Admission to the offered courses of PU UGLAW is conducted depending on the final merit list. Candidates to be selected for the preliminary merit list shall have to achieve the below minimum marks -

Candidates whose names are listed in the merit list must attend the PU UGLAW counselling event in person as per their merit position and the schedule allotted. Applicants will find the counselling schedule on the official website as and when released. Physical attendance is mandatory for the General and Reserved category applicants as per the counselling process timeline.

Candidates attending the counselling are urged to register their attendance. Only those who report their attendance on the counselling days, will be eligible for admission during the vacancy filling, provided they meet other eligibility requirements. The shortlisted applicants also have to bring their original documents for verification and other related purposes.

For the UILS Chandigarh, UILS Hoshiarpur, and UIL Ludhiana counselling procedures, the General Category aspirants will be called thrice the number of seats available. Candidates from the reserved categories will also be asked to attend PU UGLAW counselling.

Panjab University is the conducting body for the PU UGLAW 2024. PU or Panjab University is the state university that is situated in the capital of Punjab, i.e. Chandigarh. Established in 1982, the university is approved by the UGC, AICTE, and NAAC and with an ‘A’ Grade. PU offers numerous UG, PG, Integrated, Diploma, PG Diploma, Executive, Certificate and Research level courses to the aspirants. The university conducts a separate entrance examination to accept students in the undergraduate law courses. The exam goes by the name of PU UGLAW 2024 and it offers admission to the students in UG law courses as per the performance in the entrance exam.
