Levels of UPSC Result 2023

The UPSC CSE exam is conducted in three stages- Preliminary Exam, Mains Exam, and Interview-cum-Personality Test. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) releases the separate UPSC CSE result 2023 after the conduct of each stage mentioned below.

UPSC CSE Prelims Result 2023

UPSC prelims 2023 was conducted on May 28, 2024, and the students can check their results only after the exam is successfully concluded for all of the applicants. The UPSC Civil Services 2023 Prelims results were released via a PDF on the official website which contains the list of the roll numbers shortlisted for the next rounds. The UPSC CSE Prelims exam is conducted via two papers: General Studies and CSAT. In order to be eligible for the UPSC Mains exam 2024, candidates must pass both the papers of the UPSC CSE Prelims exam.

UPSC Mains Result 2023

UPSC Mains 2023 was conducted from September 6, 2023, for a period of 5 days. In order to sit for the Interview round, candidates have to pass the Mains exam of UPSC Civil Services first.

UPSC Final Result 2023

The final result of UPSC 2023 exam has been announced by UPSC after all the stages for all the qualified candidates. Candidates qualifying in the Personality tests are considered qualified candidates. Candidates passing the UPSC Civil Services exam are recruited for various posts in Indian Civil Services.

Discrepancy in UPSC CSE Result 2023

Candidates who have discrepancies in UPSC CSE 2023 Results must note that they will have to inform the discrepancy through the UPSC helpline number in advance. Therefore, you will need to take an immediate step by contacting UPSC.

What after UPSC IAS Result 2023?

The candidates who passed the Prelims exam will have to appear for the UPSC CSE Mains exam. The Mains exam is the second stage of the Civil Services Examination. IAS aspirants who clear the Prelims i.e. those who score above the cutoff in General Studies Paper I and more than 33% marks in General Studies Paper-II (CSAT) are eligible to appear for the UPSC Mains.

The candidates who qualify Mains exam will have to appear for the interview process. The results for the UPSC Civil Services exam are declared within a week after the interviews, i.e. between April-June. After the candidates receive the allocation letter, they are given fundamental training at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration in Mussoorie for 15 weeks.

If I apply for the Civil Services Prelims Exam but do not appear in any paper will it be counted as an attempt?

No, an attempt will be counted only if you have appeared in at least one paper.

Can I choose an optional subject (in Mains), which I have not studied at Graduate/PG level?

Yes, you can choose any optional subject from amongst the UPSC's list of optional subjects for Civil Services Main Exam.

Are individual marks secured in various papers or aggregate marks across all papers considered for merit?

Total marks across all papers are considered for merit.

Will there be an individual cut-off for two papers in Civil Service Prelims?

The minimum cut off marks for Paper 2 is 33 percent. The Commission may fix a minimum cut-off mark for Paper 1 too.

Will there be negative marks or different marks for Preliminary Questions?

There will be negative marking for incorrect answers for all questions except some of the questions where the negative marking will be inbuilt in the form of different marks being awarded to the most appropriate and not so appropriate answers for such questions.
