Established in 1997, Maynooth University (MU) is an internationally recognized university located in Dublin, Ireland. It is one of the four constituent universities of Ireland. In Maynooth University two campuses are linked together. There is a new north campus occupying an area of 100 acres and then there is the old south campus which features structures from the 19th century.

COVID 19 Response

Maynooth University is following all the guidelines defined by the government to limit the spread of COVID 19 and ensure the safety of all. Currently, the country is in Level 5 of the protective measures. Thus, the university is following the guidelines as mentioned below:

  • Most staff of the university are working from home. Only those with valid reasons and permissions are allowed to work from the campus.

  • Most of the buildings on the campus are closed except the John Hume Building with some spaces provided to students who need to use the campus.

  • Almost all classes are being held online except those classes that need practical learning experience.

  • Postgraduate students can take permission and use the campus area and resources.

  • Library is open and limited catering service is available.

Maynooth University Taught Masters Scholarships

Maynooth University Taught Masters Scholarships is offered to both new EU and non -EU students who achieved a minimum 2.1 honours undergraduate degree. A total of 60 scholarships are offered under this category who hold academic excellence.

Scholarship Eligibility: 

  • Must satisfy entry requirements of Maynooth University for postgraduate taught courses.

  • A minimum of 2.1 GPA required.

  • Scholarships are only available for incoming students and not the ones who have already started their programmes.

Value of the Scholarship: €2,000 to each shortlisted student 

How to Apply? 

Interested candidates will have to apply through Maynooth University postgraduate scholarships portal. The portal contains an online application, along with a step-by-step guide to complete the process.

Candidates must apply before the deadline.

Application Deadline: June or July every year 

Maynooth University Entrance Scholarships

Maynooth University Entrance Scholarship is an annual Scholarship Award for first-year students who achieve academic excellence in the course of studies. The scholarship is automatically awarded to incoming first-year students. 

An event is held every year to honour the award. In 2020, the event was held virtually. 

The Value of the Scholarship is €1,000.
