MICAT 1 2022 Question Paper Analysis and Answer Key

MICAT I 2022 exam was conducted on December 04, 2021 from 9 AM to 11:15 AM. The exam pattern of the MICAT I 2022 exam was similar to the MICAT 2021 examination. SECTION A - Psychometric Test

Around 150 questions were asked in the Psychometric Test of the MICAT 2022 examination. Around 32-33 questions were asked in a situation/ course of action and aspirants had to mark True/ False to answer these questions. Around 117 questions were from a particular personality trait where candidates needed to respond with one of the 8 options provided below.

SECTION B - Aptitude Section

Divergent And Convergent Thinking

The Divergent And Convergent Thinking section covered questions from analogies, statement-assumption, word association and puzzles. Around Out of 20 questions, 12 had 4 options each while the remaining 8 had 8 options each.

The Verbal Ability section covered questions from jumbled paragraphs, paragraph completion(cloze), word pairs, choosing the grammatically correct sentence questions, and Reading Comprehension passages. An attempt of 12+ questions with 90% accuracy would be considered a good attempt for this section.

Quantitative Ability And Data Interpretation

Around 12 Arithmetic questions were asked in the Quantitative Ability And Data Interpretation section. 3 questions were asked from Geometry and 1 question from Modern Math- Numbers. The overall difficulty level of the section was Medium. There was one set on DI consisting of a bar graph with 4 questions and a singular question on a line graph.

General Awareness

The General Awareness consisted of 20 questions. This section was more difficult than that of last year’s MICAT. General Awareness covered questions from business, ad agencies, geography, economics, terms, books and authors, awards, laws and acts, and logos. An attempt of 9-10 questions is considered good for the General Awareness section.

SECTION C - Descriptive Test

The Descriptive Test section tested the analytical and descriptive writing ability & creative skills of test-takers. The first three questions were related to each other. For the first 2 questions, candidates had to write three points each, ‘for’ & ‘against’ the topic. These two questions carried 10 marks each. In the third question, the candidate needed to write a 300-word answer. The topic for the third question was ‘Suggest steps by which a young manager can ensure creativity and innovation keeping in mind homogenous cohorts.” The fourth question in the Descriptive Test section consisted of four pictures. Candidates need to write down a particular pictorial combination (A-B-C-D or D-C-B-A or any such combination) and explain it with the help of a story.
