Microsoft, an IT company, which is considered to be the technology giant has offered 70 jobs to students across various campuses of Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). The students have been selected either for India or international operations.
Rohit Thakur, Senior HR Director at Microsoft, explained that they have offered 70 jobs to IITians this year, and out of them 20 jobs are international posts. Students who are selected for international posts will be placed in the United States (USA). He further revealed that Microsoft is one among the top three recruiters at IITs this year.

He further explained that Microsoft has been playing a significant role in hiring the best talent from the past few years. The company is relying on premier institutes to hire passionate and dynamic youth who are focused. Campus hiring is a crucial source of talent for any company which wants to hire the best lot in the industry. He stated that the students from IITs are not only considered to be top-grade technocrats in India but also worldwide.
This year, the recruitment process by Microsoft at IITs will give more emphasis on research and development (R&D) as well as engineering excellence. Since the company has plans to become a cloud services organisation in the near future, it will give importance to activities and objectives oriented towards research and development.

The placement season at IITs began on December 1, 2016. This year, a high number of Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) will recruit students from these premier institutes. However, Flipkart is not participating in placements as it did not satisfy the demands made by All IIT Placement Committee (AIPC).
