Starting April 30, 2022, the fees applicable to all Canadian permanent residence applications under the economic, permit holder, family, and humanitarian classes will be increased.
The Canadian Right of Permanent Residence Fee for the applicant and accompanying spouse or common-law partner has been raised from CAD 500 to CAD 515.

Applicants for permanent residence must fully pay the Right to Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF) when their application is approved.
The costs for permanent resident cards, permanent resident travel permits, and certification or replacement immigration papers will remain unchanged.
Fees are scheduled to rise in the next two years in accordance with the appropriate Consumer Price Index increase, rounded to the closest CAD 5.
Canada is on track to fulfil its target of accepting a record 432,000 new immigrants in 2022, having welcomed 108,000 newcomers in the first three months of the year.
For the first time since 2002, Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) raised permanent residency costs to account for inflation in 2020. All amounts are in Canadian dollars.

Additionally, you may be required to pay a CAD 500 right of permanent residency charge at the same time as your application. Those who are admitted to permanent residency may apply for it, and it will be returned if their application is denied.

Canada supports a cost-effective approach to government program funding in which the majority of the expenses are borne by individuals who utilise the services rather than taxpayers.
