Applicants for permanent residence must fully pay the Right to Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF) when their application is approved.

The costs for permanent resident cards, permanent resident travel permits, and certification or replacement immigration papers will remain unchanged.

Fees are scheduled to rise in the next two years in accordance with the appropriate Consumer Price Index increase, rounded to the closest CAD 5.

Canada is on track to fulfil its target of accepting a record 432,000 new immigrants in 2022, having welcomed 108,000 newcomers in the first three months of the year.

For the first time since 2002, Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) raised permanent residency costs to account for inflation in 2020. All amounts are in Canadian dollars.
