Goa University and NUS to Partner Up to Aid One Year of Study Abroad

Vice-chancellor Harilal Menon of Goa University stated that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National University of Singapore (NUS) would be signed soon. Students in Goa will be provided with a sandwich learning model, in which they will be able to spend one year of their degree studying abroad.

NUS is Singapore's flagship and one of Asia's finest universities. It offers a transnational approach to education, entrepreneurship and research, with an emphasis on Asian perspectives and expertise.

Goa University intends to provide a dual degree programme as well as a sandwich model. A student can study for one year in Goa and another year in Singapore under the sandwich model, according to Menon, who noted that the University of Singapore is ranked seventh in the world.

Members of the NUS administration are eager to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with Goa University. Any of these universities will award a certificate based on the number of credits a student earns. A student will receive a certificate from NUS if they earn more credits at NUS and vice versa.

Menon also mentioned that a logistics subject would be added to Goa's Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) programme. To do so, they will first meet with principals of universities in the state that offer BBA programmes.
