The results of QS World University Rankings by Subject 2022 have been announced. Overall, UK universities outperformed US universities across a wide range of areas. These rankings comprise 51 disciplines divided into five primary subject areas, namely Arts & Humanities; Engineering & Technology; and Life Sciences & Medicine.
QS World University Rankings Top Arts & Humanities Institutions 2022
The University of Oxford has topped the ranking in the Arts and Humanities stream, followed by the University of Cambridge and Harvard University. While no Indian university ranks among the top 100 QS ranking list, the Jawaharlal Nehru University is ranked 188th with a score of 68.5.

The University of Delhi is ranked 227th with a score of 66.7, alongside Queen's University Belfast, Western Sydney University, and Wuhan University.
With a score of 62.7, the Indian Institute of Bombay tied with the University of Essex, Italy's Politecnico di Torino, Portugal's University of Coimbra, and the University of Southern Denmark (SDU).
Additionally, the Indian Institute of Delhi (IIT-Delhi) and Jadavpur University (JU) have been ranked between 401-and 450 this year.

QS World University Rankings Top Engineering and Technology Institutions 2022
The Massachusetts Institute of Technology took top place in 2022, followed by the Universities of Cambridge and Oxford.

This year, the Indian Institutes of Bombay and Delhi have been ranked 65 and 72, respectively, in the engineering and technology rankings. IIT Bombay received a score of 79.9, while IIT Delhi received a score of 78.9.
Meanwhile, IIT Kharagpur ranked at number 101 with a score of 76.2, while IIT Madras and Kanpur ranked at number 103 and 122, respectively. The University of Delhi, on the other hand, was rated somewhere between 451 and 500 in the 2022 year's QS Subject rankings.

QS World University Rankings Top Life Sciences and Medicine Institutions 2022
Only three Indian colleges made the list this year in Life Sciences and Medicine: All India Institute of Medical Sciences has been ranked number 204, the University of Delhi has been ranked number 330, and Manipal Academy of Higher Education has been ranked number 375.
