Over 80% Study Abroad Aspirants Accept Online Learning as the 'New Normal'

A survey by Pearson India shows 86% of students feel that the online education will be a new experience at the university. They are willing to join universities specifically in countries like Canada, UK, Australia and USA.

A recent survey shows that Indian students are willing to get enrolled in abroad universities even if the courses are being delivered in online mode due to travel restrictions amid COVID-19. In the current scenario, Canadais the most preferred study abroad destinations of students from India. Canada has already allowed international students to enter the country provided they have a valid study permit and are enrolled in a Designated Learning Institute (DLI) that has a COVID-19 readiness plan.

Besides Canada, the UK, Australiaand the USare other countries where maximum Indian students are willing to take admission.

Ramananda SG, the vice president of the Pearson India sales and marketing said that the countries are opening borders for international students and are also implementing immigration-friendly policies to support the upward trends. He further said that according to Pearsons Global Learners Survey, 80% of students agree with the fact that there will definitely be a fundamental change in the higher education sector due to COVID-19 and 86% of students feel that the online education will be a part of the university experience. He also said that while the new change is temporary, it will definitely impact the preference and choices of students.

Pearson India that conducts the Computer Based English Language Test- PTE Academic has launched Pearson Classroom- an English language test preparation platform that provides full facilities for institutes to teach students in classroom or online mode and help them achieve success in high stakes English language exams.

Pearson also launchedActiveApp, an interactive learning solution for students and training resource for teachers. It also introduced Quikik, an AI-based learning app for children.Ramananda said that Person has so far trained over 10,000 teachers and helps them acquire skills that are needed to conduct classes on online platforms. Talking specifically about Hyderabad he said that the city has seen an upsurge in the number of students going abroad in recent years. The average number of students going abroad for higher education from Hyderabad is 35,000. The popular courses opted by international students to study abroad are Diploma and Postgraduate courses in Management, Information Technology and Masters in Information Services.
