NEW DELHI: According to government figures for the year 2021, Ukraine and Russia were among the ideal destinations for Indian students seeking higher education abroad, despite the fact that the United States of America and Canada drew the greatest number.
Not only do hundreds of Indian students come to Ukraine, but also to Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. Subhas Sarkar, Union Minister of State for Education, disclosed the results in the Lok Sabha in answer to a question from BJP MP Harish Dwivedi.

According to the minister's projections, 4,45,498 Indian students would be accepted into overseas educational institutions by 2021.
According to the findings, 18,596 students would travel to Ukraine in 2021, a territory that is still damaged as a result of the ongoing conflict with Russia.
The Indian government undertook Mission Ganga, a massive rescue operation, to save these youngsters, many of whom went on to study MBBS. Thousands of Indian students are drawn to Russia, the country in which Ukraine is battling.
During the year 2021 alone, 15, 814 Indian students were enrolled in Russian colleges and institutions.

Kyrgyzstan had 15,162 students in the same period. According to the estimate, Kazakhstan would have 5,625 Indian students by 2021.In the year 2021, the majority of Indian students attended institutions in the United States as well as Canadian institutes.
