IBS Dehradun Admission Procedure

The applications for the ICFAI Business School Dehradun are accepted in both, online as well as offline modes. The detailed application procedure for aspiring candidates is explained below:

  • There is a common IBS Dehradun admission form for admission to the MBA/PGDM course of the institution for all 9 branches. 
  • Students are required to download the ICFAI Business Studies Aptitude Test Bulletin or the IBSAT Bulletin before going ahead with filling out the application form.
  • The bulletin can be downloaded online or can be accessed offline as well. 
  • To download the bulletin online, students must visit the official website ibsindia.org and go to the “Admission Process” section of the page.
  • The IBS Dehradun admission page will open. A link for “Apply Now” under the “Apply Online” section of the page will be displayed. 
  • Click on “Apply Now” and fill in all the required information.
  • Next, students are required to pay a fee of Rs 1800 upon the submission of these details.
  • Notifications about the bulletin will be sent through e-mail and the hard copies will be delivered to the student’s address within a week.
  • For the IBS Dehradun admission 22-23 in an offline mode,  aspiring candidates can also collect the IBSAT bulletin from various marketing offices of the institution. The details about the location of the marketing offices are available under the “Admission Process” section with the link named “IBS Information Offices Near You”. 
  • Click on this link and the details for the marketing offices nearby will be available.
  • Students can collect the bulletin from these offices by paying the IBS Dehradun admission fees of Rs 1800 in cash.

Step 1

Candidates must check the eligibility criteria and match it with the respective qualifications prior to filling the application form. They must ensure that there is a valid email address, telephone number, and address, all of which must be valid during the IBS Dehradun admission process.

Step 2

Calculate the percentage of graduation, class 12, or class 10. If the previous institution used the Grade Point Average (GPA) system, then students should convert it into percentages using the formula which the previous institution followed. If there was no conversion scheme, then the equivalence can be calculated by dividing the obtained Cumulative GPA (CGPA) by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying it by 100.

As the next step in the IBS Dehradun course admissions, students are to visit the website "admissions.ibsindia.org." The opening screen would have two tabs, namely, the “Application Number” and “Password”. For those candidates who had collected the bulletin online, the application number and password to be used would have been mailed to the registered email id. In the case of offline collection of the bulletin, the application number would be mentioned on the top of the voucher and the password would be the voucher number which can be found under the scratch area at the top of the voucher.

Step 4

The IBS Dehradun admission portal would direct the candidates to a “Change Your Password” section. Enter a new password and login once again with the new credentials.

By entering the newly created password, students will be able to access the application form.

As the next step fill out the IBS Dehradun admission form using details like contact details, personal details, the past academic record of graduation and higher education, etc.

Step 7

Students must upload a coloured passport-size photograph in jpg or gif format. The photograph should not exceed 25KB in size and should be approximately 140 – 160 pixels.

Step 8

At the this step, applicants will be asked to specify how they choose to apply for the IBS Dehradun admission 22-23. This implies whether the IBSAT scores or scores of examinations like CAT, GMAT, XAT, and, NMAT will be used as a criterion.

IBS Dehradun Admission 22-23 - IBSAT Exam

  • The Master of Business Administration (MBA)/ Postgraduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) programme admission at the institution is entrance-based.
  •  IBS conducts its own entrance examination known as the “ICFAI Business Studies Aptitude Test” (IBSAT) for each academic session. 
  • The IBS Dehradun admission in 2023 will also evaluate the IBSAT scores as the main eligibility criteria. The IBSAT is an online aptitude test conducted by the ICFAI Foundation For Higher Education for admission to various branches of IBS. 
  • The test consists of multiple choice questions (MCQs) and is conducted in the Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.
  • As part of the IBS Dehradun admission criteria, the IBSAT exam evaluates students in areas such as quantitative techniques, data interpretation, data adequacy, vocabulary, analytical reasoning and reading comprehension. 
  • Until 2020, IBS Dehradun did not accept the scores of the IBSAT, but from 2020 onwards it became a participating institution in the exam and accepts the scores of the test for admission to its MBA/PGDM course. 
  • For admission through the IBSAT exam 2023, students who are graduate in any discipline with 50% marks and the medium of instruction as English can apply. Students in their final year of their Bachelor’s or those who have completed 15 years of regular education can also apply. 
  • The exam is followed by a Group Discussion and Personal Interview round. 
  • The IBSAT exam is the main criterion for admission. However, IBS also accepts the scores of qualifying examinations like CAT, GMAT, XAT, and, NMAT. The CAT result 2022 has been released on December 21, 2022, at iimcat.ac.in.
  • The IBSAT application started on July 1, 2023, and will end on December 16, 2022. The test will be conducted in the 4th week of December and the results will be declared in the first week of January 2023. 
  • Moreover, the IBSAT exam 2023 slot booking is currently open. The candidates who have successfully completed the IBSAT registration can download their admit cards after booking their slots. 
  • The national mock test window for the IBSAT closed recently on November 15, 2022. The important dates for admission at IBS Dehradun are mentioned below:

IBS Dehradun Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who are graduates in any discipline with at least 50% marks and have the medium of instruction as English only.

Must have completed a minimum of 15 years of graduation on a "10+2+3" or "10+2+4" basis for IBS Dehradun admission.

Candidates not meeting the eligibility criteria of English medium in graduation must submit the TOEFL/

NELT/ IELTS score by May 31, 2022.

Students pursuing the final year of Bachelor's degree can also apply. This is subject to the condition that they complete the graduation requirements before May 31, 2022.

The IBS Dehradun course admissions of such candidates will remain provisional until they submit valid marksheets and degree certificates received from the previous university.

The last date for submitting these documents will be November 1, 2023.
