NLU Ranchi PhD Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for pursuing a Ph.D. (Doctor of Philosophy) degree at the National University of Study and Research in Law (NUSRL) require candidates to possess a Master's degree in Law (LL.M.) from a recognized university or institution. Additionally, applicants should have obtained a minimum aggregate score of 55% or an equivalent grade in their LL.M. program. Candidates from reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC) are provided a relaxation of 5% in the minimum qualifying marks. Furthermore, applicants are required to clear the entrance examination conducted by NUSRL, which assesses their research aptitude and subject-specific knowledge. Successful candidates in the entrance examination are then shortlisted for an interview, where their research proposal and overall suitability for the Ph.D. program are evaluated.
