Northwestern University was founded way back on 31st May 1850 by a group of nine men determined to give higher education to natives of the Northwestern region. The classes began in 1855 with two faculty members and 10 students. The University has been ranked 31st in the QS Global World Ranking 2020 and 22nd in THE World University Rankings 2020. Northwestern University's ranking in the US News & World Report 2020 edition of Best Colleges is National Universities, #9.

Infrastructure, Campus & Courses

The university has 12 colleges and besides its main campus in Evanston, it has campuses in Chicago and Doha. It is a leading name in research with more than 90 school-based research centers and 50 university-based research centers with a focus on a variety of research areas. The university has 12 schools and colleges including its own hospital. The university has been granted $11 billion in the endowment from the government.
