Stretched over 282 acres of land, Saint Louis University offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate courses along with certificate and doctoral degrees. Saint Louis University, St. Louis, USA Scholarship

Billiken, Ignatian, University, Dean’s and Vice President’s Scholarships

  • Billiken, Ignatian, University, Dean’s and Vice President’s Scholarships are conferred to those incoming students who have displayed excellent academic record.
  • The scholarships are automatically renewed each consecutive semester, provided the candidates are able to maintain the required GPA each semester.

Eligibility:

  • For incoming freshmen, the awards will be conferred based on the previous academic records, secured by the applicant in high school.
  • For renewal, students are required to ensure that they have maintained the following GPA, pertaining to a specific scholarship.
  • For Billiken scholarships, candidates must maintain a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  • For Ignatian scholarships, candidates must maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
  • For University scholarships, candidates must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • For Dean’s scholarships, candidates must maintain a GPA of 3.1 or higher.
  • For Vice President’s scholarships, candidates must maintain a GPA of 3.2 or higher.

Amount: US$ 8,000 - US$ 23,000
 

Presidential Scholarship

  • The Presidential Scholarship is a four-year scholarship awarded to those students who display exemplary leadership skills.
  • The scholarship will cover the tuition costs of the student’s programme for eight consecutive full-time semesters, counting to 18 credits.

Eligibility:

  • Candidates should have secured a CGPA of 3.85 or higher, weighted or unweighted.
  • ACT/SAT scores are not mandatory.

Amount: Full tuition fee for eight consecutive semesters, counting up to 18 credit hours.

Application Process:

  • Interested applicants are required to submit all the relevant academic transcripts along with an online application to any programme offered by SLU.
  • Interested candidates are then required to submit a separate application for the Presidential Scholarship along with other materials, including a scholarship essay, resume and two letters of recommendation.
  • All applications and documents must be submitted by Dec 1 for those applying for the next academic year.

Martin Luther King Jr Scholarship

  • The Martin Luther King Jr Scholarships is awarded to candidates who have displayed leadership skills as agents of change or influence within their school and/or community.
  • Under the scholarship, you will be participating in a structured programme that will enhance your self-awareness. You will also be exposed to various multi-cultural experiences as well as be encouraged to become an advocate for positive social change.

Eligibility:

  • For Incoming Freshmen, applicants must have secured a CGPA of 3.25 or higher in their high school, weighted or unweighted.
  • ACT and SAT scores are not mandatory.

Amount: A minimum of US$ 3,000 per year, in addition to any SLU scholarship/s awarded previously.

Application Process:

  • Candidates should first submit a completed application form to any of the programmes offered by SLU.
  • They should then separately apply for the Marting Luther King Jr. Scholarship and submit the necessary documents which include a scholarship and resume.
  • All applications should be submitted to the university, latest by Feb 8.

Dr Donald M. Suggs Scholarships

  • The Dr Donald M. Suggs Scholarships are awarded to support the retention of current students of the University, who hail from underrepresented backgrounds.
  • The scholarship will not be automatically renewed, but applicants are allowed to re-apply each year.

Eligibility:

  • Candidates should have secured a minimum CGPA of 2.5 or higher.
  • A minimum of 30 credit hours at SLU should be earned at the time of application.
  • Candidates should demonstrate a need for financial support.
  • Candidates should be a member of a racial or ethnic minority group which is underrepresented according to SLU’s goal of ensuring educational benefits in a diverse student population.
  • Preference will be given to students from St Louis or the metropolitan area.
  • Candidates must receive recommendations from an SLU staff or faculty member.

Amount: 2 scholarships worth US$ 10,000 will be awarded every year.

Application Process:

  • Candidates are required to apply separately to the Scholarship, which is available in “Scholarship Suite” of the University.
  • Candidates are required to submit the completed applications by 1st June of the year of application.
  • Each recipient of the scholarship will be selected by a Campus Committee by 15th June.
