16 new technical institutes to open in Bihar

At least 6 government engineering colleges & ten polytechnic colleges are all set to start their courses from this academic session i.e. 2016-17 as the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has given its approval for the same purpose, according to the reports.
"The All India Council For Technical Education has given approval to start the 6 government engineering colleges & the 10 polytechnic colleges of the state from this academic year," as informed by Mr Jai Singh, the Bihar Science and Technology minister.
The decision to open the sixteen technical institutes is a part of the CM Nitish Kumar’s 'Saat Nischay' scheme (Seven resolves) that had promised 1 engineering & 1 polytechnic college in each district in the upcoming 5 years, as informed by Mr Singh.
With this, the total number of engineering colleges and polytechnic colleges in the state will go up to 13 and 32 respectively.
The minister also said that the 6 new engineering colleges would soon start with their courses in Madhepura, Begusarai, Sasaram, Katihar Bakhtiarpur and Sitamarhi.
These technical colleges seek to offer the engineering courses in the steams like Mechanical, Computer science, Civil, Electrical & Electronics and Electrical.
Similarly, ten polytechnic colleges would also be opened at Gopalganj, Kaimur, Munger, Tekari in Gaya, Jamui, , Banka, Sheikhpura, Raghopur in Supaul, & Samastipur, he said.
