Jaipur Youth Bags World-Record Certificate for Memorising Digits

Sunil Kumar Sharma, a 21-year-old youth from Jaipur received the Square Root of Two World Ranking certificate for memorising maximum post-decimal digits of the value of square root of two. The world ranking is a part of Pi World Ranking List, which registers records of the candidates for memorising the highest number of values of Pi and the square root of two.

Sunil Sharma spoke 5,710 digits of the value of square root of two in an hour and 42 minutes. Also, he has made a world record by saying 243 digits of the square root of two in just one minute at an event conducted by India Book of Records on June 24, 2016. He broke the record of a European who spoke 222 digits in three minutes and eight seconds.

Sharma is pursuing Shiksha Shastri (B.Ed) at Jagadguru Ramanandacharya Rajasthan Sanskrit University. He shared his childhood experiences and said that his friends used to make fun of him whenever he recited numbers. Sharma left the studies due to depression. Later he chose Sanskrit as the field of study which not only improved his memory but also brought him many laurels.

Currently, he is working on a book related to memory techniques. He is also working on some motivational books for the youth. He claims that he remembers numbers through visualisation.
