AP Intermediate and Degree Colleges Academic Year Commenced

The classes for academic year 2016-2017 at various Intermediate and Degree Colleges were commenced on 1-June-2016. The classes for final year UG students commenced at various colleges which come under Acharya Nagarjuna University, Krishna University and Adikavi Nannaya University. The classes for senior intermediate were also commenced.

According to sources around 38,000 students have admitted in Junior Colleges of Krishna District. The situation is similar in all the districts. The admissions are filled to full extent at almost all the junior colleges.

This year Andhra Pradesh government has introduced mid-day meals scheme at various Government Junior Colleges across 13 districts of Andhra Pradesh. Until last year this scheme was prevalent in only government schools. Students expressed their gratitude towards the government for implementing mid-day meals at government colleges.

Due to the extreme heat wave in Andhra Pradesh, most of the junior colleges are running half day sessions i.e. from 8.30 AM to 11.30 AM. The full day sessions will commence from next week.

The only thing that is bothering the junior colleges is there is no clarity on NEET syllabus. The government hasn’t made any changes in the Bi.Pc syllabus and had not taken any decision about the CBSC based syllabus for Bi.Pc. The senior intermediate students who are pursuing Bi.Pc have to take NEET exam instead of EAMCET. So the government has to take decision on the syllabus of Bi.Pc.
