AICTE and Internshala to Honour Colleges with Best Internship Record

Internshala and AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) have jointly announced ‘Internship Day’ , which is to be held on the fourth Saturday of August. As a part of the internship day, AICTE will honour the colleges with the best internship record.

The motive behind conducting internship day is to acknowledge and appreciate the colleges that played a vital role in helping their students secure internships during the months of April – July. This year, Internship Day will take place in Delhi on August 25, 2018.

AICTE has been constantly working to improve the employability of students. With an aim to achieve this outcome, AICTE has mandated internships for all the students in technical institutes affiliated to the council across the country. Events like Internship Day will motivate the colleges to provide internship opportunities to students.

Chairperson of AICTE, Dr. Anil Sahasrabuddhe explained that internships are an essential part of the students’ life in college. Internships will help students to learn industry-specific skills , develop entrepreneurial abilities and gain immense exposure. Students can land their dream jobs through internships. On the other hand, it is also the responsibility of colleges and faculty to prepare students for their future jobs. Internship Day is a unique event that will promote internship culture in India, he hoped.

With the help of AICTE, Internshala will assist the colleges to register their students on Internshala and provide internship opportunities for students throughout the summer. During the Internship Day event, colleges that offered a maximum number of internships to students will be recognised and honoured.
