Business Aspirants to Benefit from Atal Incubation Centre for Start-ups

The proposition to set up business incubation centres has been cleared by the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC).

Students who aspire to start their own business can benefit from this centre. Under this initiative, the NDMC will assist twenty new startups and will provide them with some of the basic facilities that are required to run a startup, such as internet connectivity, conference rooms, libraries, etc.

The attempt of the centre is to promote students and individuals who come up with creative ideas to initiate their own startups and nurture their ideas in order to create more jobs.

The incubation centre will provide 100 plug and play workstations, libraries, dedicated meeting rooms, conference rooms, training rooms as well as a special platform for events that will have the facility of backup audio-visual, informed the Chairman of the incubation centre, Naresh Kumar.

A senior NDMC officials further informed that each of the twenty startups will be provided with a fund of INR 12.5 lakh under this project.

A collaborated effort of NDMC and the Software Technology Parks of India will work to set up Atal Incubation Centres under the Atal Innovation Mission for startups. There will be 100 workstations within these centres over an area of 10,000 square feet.

Skill development courses will also be started in the Women Technical Institute not that the Council has cleared the proposal for the above. Courses will be provided on subjects such as general duty assistant, medical laboratory technician, home health aid, etc.

Discussions are going on within the NDMC to provide courses to train dental technicians, assistants and oral hygienists that will be offered at NDMC’s dental clinic on Dharam Marg.
