CBSE Class 10 English Paper: The CBSE Class 10 English Marking Scheme 2025–26 helps the candidates to get an understanding of the 80-mark board exam and the weightage of each section. The Paper is divided into three sections: Reading, Writing & Grammar, and Literature, with Literature carrying the maximum marks. Knowing this division helps students to concentrate more on scoring parts like prose, poetry, and supplementary reader, as they also help to develop basic skills like comprehension and writing. The chapter-wise weightage also plays a crucial role in guiding students to focus on important chapters for practice accordingly, so as to enable them to prepare well for both the objective and the subjective types of questions in the main exam.

Students are advised to note that the CBSE Class 10 English Question Paper for 2025-26 will have the following types of questions: Objective Type, Short and Long Writing Questions, Reading Comprehension, Grammar-Based Questions, and Literature-based questions from Prose, Poetry & Supplementary Passages. Further, students can expect to be given internal options for about 33% of questions, so they don’t have to answer every question on the paper.
