Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) tenth edition will be conducted by The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

Date for the test: September 18

Date for release of admit cards: August 17, Wednesday

It has been estimated that around 7-8 lakh candidates will be appearing for the exam. The last date to apply for the exam was July 18.

The exam is conducted by The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on behalf of the HRD Ministry to shortlist candidates for teacher posts at various schools run by the central government. Some of the schools falling under this category include:

  • Kendriya Vidyalayas
  • Navodaya Vidyalayas
  • Central Tibetan Schools and
  • Other schools running under the administrative control of Union Territories.

In order to maintain and meet quality standards while recruiting teachers, a TET qualification standard has been made mandatory by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).

This will be the tenth edition of the CTET this year. Application for the same were invited between June 22 and July 18. After July 20, applicants were given a final chance to make the required corrections in their application forms between July 20 to 25. Candidates after clearing this test will be eligible to apply for jobs at various schools run by the central government for Classes I to VIII.

Exam details:

  • The exam will be conducted on September 18th in two shifts.
  • The first shift will be from 9:30 am to 12 noon for candidates applying for post of teacher for classes VI to VIII.
  • The second shift will be from 2.00 pm to 4.30 pm for candidates applying for post of teacher for classes I to V.

Candidates are requested to bring their admit cards along with them at the time of test. Also, candidates appearing for the first shift have to reach their venues at 8 AM as the process of checking admit cards will be held between 9 am to 9.15 am. At 9:15 am, the answer sheets will be provided to the candidates. And the exam will begin at 9.30 am.

In the case of the second shift, entries will begin at 12.30 pm.

Important points:

Candidates need to carry the following things along with them on the day of the exam:

  • Blue/black ball pen
  • Admit card
  • Valid ID proof
