City College of Commerce & Business Administration organises UGC Aided National Seminar

City College of Commerce and Business Administration organised one day long University Grants Commission Aided Seminar on Human Rights: Obligation of the Individual Vis-a-Vis the State on March 10th, 2016.

The Seminar held at the Calcutta University's University Institute Hall. The Seminar was mainly focused on Human Rights and usefullness in the present age of globalization. In this developed society where people are growing in each and every field of life including social, economic and political growth a great part that also needs to be developed in a rapid force is Human Rights. Our country's economic has been growing in this present decades at a good and sustainable phase, but still in this time the part that is avoided partially is the phase of Human Rights. There are huge amount of obligation about the fundamental Human Rights which must be applied to build a better and developing society throughout the country, In the seminar these difficulties and obligations were discussed and also some clear-cut policies to drain out these difficulties and make these rights stronger to build an all over growing state were also brought out by the famous laureates and speakers who were present at the event.

Some well-known persons like Prof. (Dr.) J.K.Das. Senior Advocate & Legal Aid and Environment Activist Mr. Gitanath Ganguly, Associate Professor of Charuchandra Colege Prof. Bimal Sankar Nanda, Principal of South Calcutta Law College Dr. Debasis Chattopadhyaya,

Ex. Assistant Vice President of Eastern Region, Times of India Group Sk. Mohammad Ali and Principal of Jogesh Chandra Chowdhury Law College Dr. Sunanda Goenka. The principal of City College of Commerce & Business Administration Dr. Sandip Kumar Paul inaugurated the event with his welcome address to all the laureates, speakers and audiences who were present in the event. Dr. Debasis Chattopadhyaya spoke about the various stages of Human Rights and its implementation process.

Dr. Sunanda Goenka focused more on the Women and Child rights and the complications seen in real society for the implementation of these rights. She also spoke about the ways to bring out transparency in these rights.

Later, in the seminar, the students also showcase their projects on Human Rights and got the chance to get certain appreciation from all the laureates.

Dr. Paul also thanked each and everyone for joining the seminar and also hoped for a ray of a way in future for the implementation of these rights in a proper manner.
