CTET December 2025 Notification likely to be Delayed Further; Here's the reason
The CTET December 2025 notification is still pending, leaving thousands of teacher aspirants waiting. The delay may be linked to NEP 2020 syllabus changes and a Supreme Court directive for in-service teachers. Official updates from CBSE are awaited.
CTET December 2025 Notification Delayed: CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test) conducted by CBSE is compulsory for the teaching posts in Kendriya Vidyalayas, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, and other Central schools . But the notification for December 2025 is still not out, leaving thousands of aspirants to become teachers in a lurch who have been looking for an update for more than a year.
CBSE has been conducting the CTET twice a year, in July and December, for the past few years. The previous notification was released in September 2024, and the exam date was held on December 14, 2024. It has been one year since the CTET notification was released.

AP TET November 2025 Notification Expected Release Date
CTET is one of the largest teacher eligibility tests in India, where around 30 lakh candidates appear every year. Only in Telugu states, 25000 - 30000 candidates attend the exam. Many candidates also appear in CTET, so that they will be prepared for the state-level exams (DSC) as the syllabus is almost the same for both of them.
The delay could be due to changes in the school education with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 introduces a
5+3+3+4 structure
for schools. If actually enforced, even lecturers teaching at the Intermediate level would have to clear TET. This has led to speculations about a change in syllabus, qualifying marks, or eligibility conditions.

Recently, the Supreme Court of India directed even in-service teachers to clear the TET. This implies that the CBSE would now have to amend the notification to come in line with the court’s order. Any formal amendments would probably need a gazette notification from the central government. The notification for CTET December 2025 remains uncertain till CBSE and NCTE specify the syllabus or revised eligibility.
