Dalai Lama to Inaugurate the Association of Indian Universities Meet
- The 92nd annual meet of the Association of Indian Universities will be organised by Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies.
- The annual meet will be integrated by Dalai Lama on March 19 and will continue till March 21, 2018.
The Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies - CIHTS Sarnath is organising the 92nd annual meet of the Association of Indian Universities from March 19 to March 21, 2018.
As per the notification sent by Professor Furqan Qamar Secretary General AIU to the directors and the vice chancellors, the 92nd annual meet will be inaugurated by Dalai Lama on March 19. A national seminar will also be held on higher education in the era of innovation, disruptive technology and entrepreneurship while the main focus will be on human values in the age of disruption.

The annual meet will also focus on proposals relating to higher education with special reference to the university system in the country other than the suggestions and recommendations of AIU zonal vice-chancellors’ meet 2017-18. The 92nd annual meet will also witness the interaction between the heads of foreign sister organizations who deal with higher education.
91st annual meet of Association was held at Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati. The meet was attended by a huge number of delegates and other VVIPs from both India and abroad, a total of 250 Vice-Chancellors from across the country participated in the prestigious meet. Last year, N Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated the meet at SVU on 5 February 2017.

Celebrating the success of higher education accomplishments and achievements in a post-independence era were the main themes of the last year’s meet. It highlighted the achievements made by the country in the higher education from the time of independence.
