Delay in ICAR Choice Filling 2025 to Impact Academic Timelines; Students demand an update
ICAR counselling registration is delayed, causing distress among students. Technical issues with SBI payment gateway integration and the addition of new universities contribute to the delay.
Delay in ICAR Choice Filling 2025 to Impact Academic Timelines : The Indian Council of Agricultural Research has not initiated the counselling registration process for the 2025 academic year, thereby causing significant distress among students. As per the statement released by ICAR Director General, Dr. JoyKrushna Jena, the choice filling process was slated to commence on October 6 or 7; however, it remains pending. Presently, on October 8, the counselling registration has not commenced, with choice filling scheduled to follow thereafter.
The delay can be attributed to technical difficulties arising from the integration of the payment gateway with the State Bank of India. ICAR's previous arrangement with another bank was cancelled, requiring a restart of the process with SBI, which is proving to be time-consuming. This development has left students disheartened, particularly since the latest brochure issued on October 3 does not provide any information regarding registration dates, and no updates are available at present.
A comparative analysis with previous years reveals that in 2024, the counselling process started on August 28, and it has been over a month and a half since then, yet the counselling for 2025 has not begun. Furthermore, the counselling process commenced on October 18 in 2023, leading to apprehensions among students that this year's process may start even later. Despite numerous emails sent by students to the authorities, no concrete dates have been provided, with assurances only that the registration process will commence soon.
The uncertainty has been further compounded by the fact that students have been awaiting the commencement of the counselling process since July, when the CUET UG 2025 results were declared. In addition to the payment gateway issues, the recent revised brochure includes 47 more participating universities, and it remains unclear whether more universities will be added to the list. This development has also contributed to the delay in the registration process.
