The admissions of at least 20 students have been put on halt by the Delhi University. These 20 students have applied for admissions under sports category. Most of the students were state level cricket players and they were unable to get a seat in the college and a course of their choice.

The trials are being conducted in St. Stephen’s College for the students who applied under sports quota. The students who are not satisfied with the trials at the college can go for University trials. Here the marking system is not similar to both the trails. Around 40 students appeared for trails in St. Stephen’s College out of which 20 of them were not satisfied with the trials of the college and wished to appear for University trials.

St. Stephen’s College allotted 35 marks for trials whereas it is 50 in University trials. One of the students opined that the students who have appeared for retrials at University secured more marks than the previous trials at St. Stephen’s College.

The students who have appeared for only one trial argued that the moderation hasn’t been done for the marks. These students have lower ranks in the merit list.

Students who appeared for trials argued that the candidates who appeared for retrials have got more marks. These students have written letter to VC of DU, Mr. Yogesh Tyagi that they were satisfied with the previous trials and did not attend the retrials. Students pointed that there are flaws in marking system.
