The Union HRD Minister, Mr. Prakash Javadekar stressed that education is “beyond politics”. He also assured that government is trying to make all the efforts to fill up the vacancies of faculties and is trying is ensure the quality of education. He mentioned that adequate funds will be provided for research works at education institutions. He also said that the government is trying to establish NIT in Andhra Pradesh. The bill is in Lok Sabha and will get accepted in the parliament soon. The government is trying to give more importance to education as they believe education is beyond politics.

He appreciated the efforts of previous governments in developing the education. He also opined that the main aim of the British government was not to develop education when it ruled India. Compensation, freedom, and accountability are the key factors for a good teacher and the vacancies in government school will be filled soon.

The ministry has also proposed funds of Rs.20,000 crore for the development of infrastructure and research facilities in various reputed educational institutions. He also mentioned that the government has granted 140 acres of land and a budget of Rs 40 crore for the establishment of NIT.

The NIT is being operated in Andhra Pradesh in a temporary building. A total number of 900 students have been enrolled in NIT. There are no proper laboratories and infrastructure facilities in the institute. The government is pushing to set up NIT in Andhra Pradesh as early as possible.

He further mentioned that the government is planning to look into the issue related to shortage of faculty in IITs. All these issues will be resolved soon. Education is the key factor for the development of the country and hence government is giving it first priority.
