Four-Day Orientation Programme Held At Narangi Anchalik Mahavidyalaya

A four-day orientation programme was held by The Department of English, Narangi Anchalik Mahavidyalaya, for secondary level English teachers from May 17 to 20. The programme was inaugurated by Jabin Akbar, Head of Department of English, Dispur College. Principal of the college, Reeta Dutta Hazarika, presided over the inaugural session.

Many faculty members of the college as well as other colleges of the city took part in the orientation programme. Dr Santulan Mahanta of the Department of English, Narangi Anchalik Mahavidyalaya, was the resource person on the first day of the programme. The resource person for the second day was Swapon Deorah, Principal, Icon Academy, who enlightened the participants on the recent issues of teaching English at the secondary level.

Roise Patangia, Head of the Department, English, Ruplekha Phukan Barthakur, Sumitra D Chettry and Mukta Purkayastha, Assistant Professors of the Department Of English, Narangi Anchalik Mahavidyalaya were the resource persons for the third day. Various issues faced in teaching English in present day were addressed and discussed on the third day.

Dr Sweta Pegu, Associate Professor, Department of English, Gauhati Commerce College, enlightened the participants with her valuable speech as a Chief Guest of the programme. At the end of the programme, certificates were distributed among the participants and vote of thanks was offered.
