Holiday in Patna University colleges

Patna University colleges are observing the Mahavir Jayanti on 19th April 2016. The colleges are closed on the account of the festival. All the administrative blocks and units have also been observing an off for the day.

Patna University has rescheduled the Mahavir Jayanti holiday. Now the Patna University (PU) has been closed on the April 19th in place of April 20th, according to the notification that has been issued by the University on 18th April 2016

It is noteworthy that the festival of Mahavir Jayanti is celebrated with a lot of enthusiasm in Bihar as it was the birthplace of Mahavir. The government of Bihar is celebrating a two day long “Mahavir Jayanti festival” at Kundalpur – Bihar. The government is going to be organizing the festival from 19th April 2016.

It is noteworthy that the Mahavir Jayanti Festival was going to be celebrated on April 20th in the colleges of the Patna University, however, as a result of a change in the plans, the university decided to observe the day on April 19th instead of 20th. So, the colleges are observing holidays on April 19th instead of April 20th. Also, the state observes the festival with a lot of excitement and enthusiasm as the state was the birthplace of the Mahavir.
