The prestigious Indian Administrative Service (IAS) has been offered to Tina Dabi, the topper of civil services examination and Jammu and Kashmir’s Athar Aamir Ul Shafi Khan.

The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has given various services to 902 successful candidates.

Tina Dabi and Jasmeet Singh Sandhu both from Delhi and Athar Aamir Ul Shafi Khan have been allocated the IAS, said a source from the DoPT. It is to be noted that this year Tina Dabi an alumni from Lady Shri Ram College was the topper while Khan and Sandhu secured second and third position respectively in the civil serivce examination.

“ The numbers candidates who got IAS were 178, Indian Forest Service (IFS) 43 , Indian Police Service (IPS) 138 while 543 others have been allocated different Group ‘A’ & ‘B’ services. Candidates allocated to Group A services will undergo training in Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) in Mussoorie for the Foundation Course,” said an official The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).

The civil services examination is the most prestigious service which is conducted annually in three stages to select right and talented candidates for IAS and IPS, among others.

The result of the Civil Serivce examination was declared on 10th May where as many as 1,078 candidates cleared their examination. Of these candidates 499 were in general category, 314 belonged to OBC, 176 beloned to Scheduled Castes and 89 canddiates belonging to Scheduled Tribes had qualified the test result. The number of candidates belonging to the waiting list are 172.

Civil Services Examination is conducted by UPSC in three stages - preliminary, main and interview as to select right candidates.
