IIT Mandi Crowned University of the Year: Another feather has been added to the crown of the Indian Institute of Technology, Mandi, viz., the college has been honored with two prestigious recognitions, ‘Excellence in Creating Employment & Entrepreneurship’ and ‘University of the Year (Established)’ at the FICCI Higher Education Excellence Awards 2025. The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry organized the award ceremony in New Delhi, and those were given by the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari.
The acknowledgement was received by the IIT Mandi for it’s remarkable contribution in fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and employability across the unique ecosystem. It, in turn, helps in academic research, industry collaboration so that the Institute can bring meaningful change in the communities. As the first technology business incubator in the Himalayas, the IIT Mandi has been playing the role of a catalyst. Consequently, the Institute has played a vital role in nurturing 400 startups, generating substantial employment, and promoting tech-driven entrepreneurship all over the country.
In this regard, the Director of IIT Mandi, Prof. Laxmidhar Behera, has stated that this facilitation is one of the proud moments for the entire organisation community. It, in turn, underscores the commitment of the institution, nurtures the innovation for a vibrant ecosystem and entrepreneurship, as well as the growth level of the nation. The director also dedicated this achievement to the entire faculty, staff, and students, whose relentless efforts have shaped it as a transformative institution.
IIT Mandi has brought a new transition, and its innovation-driven curriculum supports the Atmanirbhar Bharat national vision. The Institute is quite efficient in dealing with the difficult problems of the future while promoting social and economic advancement with the help of a culture of creativity.
