Candidates eligible to participate in CLAT Counselling 2026 shall review the instructions to the registration process here. It should be noted that candidates must fulfil the registration process to participate in the counselling process. Candidates who fail to complete the registration process but are eligible will not be considered for the seat allotment process.

The detailed instructions to complete the registration process for CLAT Counselling 2026 is provided here:- According to each NLU's rank list and admissions matrix, eligible candidates will be invited to take part in the admissions counselling process.
- An invitation to participate in the admissions counselling process will be sent to eligible applicants via email at their registered email address, SMS at their registered cellphone number, and an invitation on their CLAT 2026 portal.
- During each round, candidates must verify that they have been invited for counselling by logging into their CLAT account on the Consortium of NLUs (the "Consortium") website. Any emails or SMSs that are not delivered will not be the Consortium's responsibility.
- The admissions counselling process registration period will begin on December 16, 2025, at 9:00 PM and end on December 27, 2025, at 10:00 PM.
- Candidates must pay the Counselling Registration Fee by the deadline to finish registering for the Admissions Counselling Process.
- Candidates in the General Category: Rs. 30,000 (thirty thousand rupees only), and candidates from the ST, SC, OBC, BC, EWS, and PWD categories must pay Rs. 20,000.
- Candidates are asked to thoroughly evaluate the various programs and seat matrices by looking through the NLU brochures on the Participating Universities page.
- A minimum of 15 preferences for UG and a minimum of 5 preferences for PG are required of candidates. Until the counselling registration is closed, candidates are free to change their preferences as often as they like.
- Candidates should be aware that they are only able to increase their preferences; they are unable to decrease them. After the deadline, requests to modify preferences will not be considered or approved.
- The allocation of seats will only take into account applicants who have successfully finished the Admissions Counselling Process registration process.
