JEE Main 2026 Virtual Calculator; NTA issues clarification
NTA has clarified that calculators, including virtual ones, are not permitted in the JEE Main 2026 examination. The Session 1 examination will be conducted in January 2026.
JEE Main 2026 Virtual Calculator: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued a clarification regarding the use of virtual calculators in Joint Entrance Examination (Main) 2026. According to the Information Bulletin of JEE Main 2026, there was a mention of an on-screen standard calculator being available during the Computer-Based Test (CBT). However, NTA has clarified that this feature is not applicable to JEE Main as the use of calculators in any form is not permitted in this examination. The revised Information Bulletin has been uploaded to the NTA website, and candidates are advised to download it to stay updated.
As per the latest update, the examination will be conducted in two sessions: Session 1 in January 2026 and Session 2 in April 2026. The online application form for Session 1 is already live on the NTA website, and candidates are advised to fill and submit it within the specified deadline. The NTA has apologized for the typographic error in the Information Bulletin and the inconvenience caused to the candidates.
The last date for the successful transaction of fees is November 27, 2025. For Session 2, registration will open in the last week of January 2026 and close in late February or early March 2026. Candidates can apply through the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in using their Aadhaar number, mobile number, and email ID. A correction window will also be available after registration. It is essential for candidates to carefully read and understand the instructions provided by NTA to avoid any confusion or issues during the examination.
