JNTU Hyderabad Implements New Evaluation System where 40 marks will be allocated to the (CIE) and 60 marks will be allocated to the Semester end-examination (SEE) making it a total of 100 Marks.
Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) has announced a new regulation for the UG (undergraduate) engineering courses. Along with that, the university has also brought the regulation for enhancement of the Continuous Internal Evaluation (CIE) for the academic year 2022-23. According to the new regulation, the performance of the student in all the courses and subjects, projects and practicals will be evaluated for 100 marks where 40 marks will be allocated to the (CIE) and 60 marks will be allocated to the Semester end-examination (SEE).
List of Changes in JNTU-H Continuous Internal Evaluation (CIE)
Earlier only 25 marks were allotted to the CIE and 75 to the SEE. In CIE for theory subjects, there will be two mid-term examinations conducted where Part A will be for 10 marks consisting of (Objective/quiz paper) and 15 marks is allocated to Part B (descriptive paper). To qualify students to need to secure a minimum of 9 marks (35%) out of 25 marks from the average of two mid-term examinations.
Apart from that, there will be an assignment for 5 marks and a new assessment for 10 marks consisting of a power-point presentation, viva-voce poster, presentation or case study on a topic in the subject added in the mid-term examination.
List of Changes in JNTU-H Semester End-Examination (SEE)
There are some changes made to the Semester end-examination (SEE) as well. The SEE will be for 60 marks whereas Part A will be for 10 marks and the rest of Part B for 50 marks. Part A will consist of sub-questions from all the units having equal marks and Part B will consist of 5 questions where each question carries 10 marks.
As per the institute, in the first semester real-time or field-based research project whereas in the fourth semester the university will conduct a mid-term examination for 50 marks, and there will not be any external evaluation.
The 60 Marks in SEE are distributed as 10 marks for the write-up, 15 marks will be for the experiments, 15 marks will be for the evaluation of results, 10 marks will be awarded for the presentation and 10 marks for viva voice.
For practical subjects, out of 40, 10 marks will be awarded to write up day-to-day experiments in the lab, viva-voice or tutorial or case study or application or internal practical exams, poster presentations, and laboratory projects.
Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) has added real-time research projects and various industry-based mini projects in the second and third years of engineering to help students get more practical experience in the subject.
