KTUJM Students Spread Awareness through Nukkad Naatak
Students of the Kusha Bhau Thakre University of Journalism and Mass communication performed Nukkad Naatak on the theme of Stop Polythene Usage.
Chhattisgarh government took a step towards making the state plastic free by banning the use of polythene carry bags from January 2015 . "The government had decided to declare Chhattisgarh as 'Plastic Carry Bag Free State' from 2015. Officials of the State had released a notification that if anybody violate rules in this connection, action will be taken under relevant sections of Environment (Protection) Act 1986.All officials concerned had been directed to ensure effective implementation of the decision and encourage people to use the alternative like paper and jute bags.
But for the rural population, there is very little awareness regarding the effects of Polythene usage. Taking a CSR Initiative Kusha bhau Thakre University of Journalism and Mass Communication have adopted the villages that come in the vicinity of University campus,under the God Gram Project (Adopted Village Project). The motto behind the project is to contribute to the development of the villages and help the villagers to live a better life. The various departments of KTUJM have adopted a particular village and every year the students visit the villages and give their contribution in overcoming the various problems the villagers face.
Under the God Gram project, this time, KTUJMites have prepared a Nukkad Naatak which they performed in DATRENGA village which is around 3kms from the University campus.
The students gathered all the villagers at one place in which and they performed their play with a message "Let's just stop using Polythene, it is Dangerous".
The students ended their play showing the alternatives to the Poly bags like paper and jute bags. They gave their best to motivate and aware Datrenga villagers against the Polythene usage.
