Lucknow University LLB Entrance Examination Held Amid Confusion

Lucknow University (LU) entrance examination for admission in LLB (five year integrated course) was held on May 31 amid confusion.

Candidates complained about several errors in multiple-choice questions. While in some questions there was repetition in the choice of the correct answers, answer of one question was wrong. According to officials LU has formed a committee to probe the matter. Over 1,900 candidates had applied from 120 LLB seats, of which only 1,488 appeared for the test.

As per candidates they felt that a question was on the first woman chief justice of India but none of the options was correct because we haven't had a woman chief justice till date . Also there was a question about the biggest state in the country area wise had answer options that were repeated twice. Both option `a' and `b' mentioned Madhya Pradesh. As there is negative marking, students left the questions which were ambiguous.

Many students pointed out these discrepancies to the observers during the exam.

“There was differences in the sequence of questions in the Hindi and the English versions,“ said LU spokesperson NK Pandey who was also an observer. “We got the information about misprint. We will take care of students' interest and will take a decision accordingly ,“ said LU admission coordinator Anil Mishra.

A five-member committee was formed by LU vice-chancellor SB Nimse to interrogate and look into the discrepancy and misprinting in the question paper.
