MDDM College gets CPE status - Bihar

MDDM College – Muzzafarpur, Bihar has been conferred with the title of “Centre for Potential with Excellence (CPE)” by the University Grants Commission, following LS College Muzaffarpur, Bihar.

The college was given the title on 22nd April 2016. The college administration observed celebrations on the same account on 23rd April 2016.

The Principal of the MDDM College Mrs. Mamta Rani said on 23rd April 2016, that about 300 colleges, amongst 6 from Bihar, were participating in the ‘interface’ organized at New Delhi in the month of January 2016 but it was only the MDDM College from Bihar that was declared “CPE” by the University Grants Commission.

It has been reported that the main basis of the selection was the better presentation of the potential of the colleges, the status, the alumni and the plans for progress apart from the capabilities to overcome the problems that University Grants Commission decides to help the institution by declaring it as “CPE”.

Mrs. Rani also said that the college has about 6000 pupils on the rolls and expects a total of Rs. 5 crores in 3 instalments from the UGC, starting in a month.

The college admin also has the plan to computerize all the departments, cover the entire college campus with WiFi, and set up a language lab and botanical garden beside the other projects to improve the teaching in the classes, library, and labs with the assistance from UGC.
