NEET Round 2 Counselling to Begin From 29 August 2025: Schedule to be Released Soon
The MCC has announced that NEET UG Round 2 Counselling 2025 will be initiated from August 29, onwards. The detailed counselling schedule is expected to be released shortly on the official MCC portal- mcc.nic.in.
NEET Round 2 Counselling to Begin From 29 August 2025: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has announced that the NEET UG 2025 Round 2 Counselling will commence from August 29, 2025. The detailed round 2 schedule, including registration dates, choice-filling, seat allotment, and reporting deadlines, will soon be released on the official website- mcc.nic.in. Candidates who were unable to secure a seat in the first round or who wish to upgrade their allotted seat will be eligible to participate in Round 2. Originally scheduled to begin on August 22, the Round 2 counselling process was postponed to allow additional time for Round 1 candidates to resign their seats.
As per sources, the Round 2 process will include fresh registration, payment of fees, choice filling, choice locking, seat allotment result declaration, and reporting to allocated colleges.
NEET Round 2 Counselling 2025: Who is Eligible?
Round 2 is open for candidates who fall into the following criteria:
- Candidates who did not register or participate in Round 1.
- Those who registered in Round 1 but were not allotted a seat.
- Candidates who were allotted a seat in Round 1 but did not report to the allotted college.
- Applicants who wish to upgrade their Round 1 seat.
The choice-filling and locking process will be opened soon after registration, enabling candidates to select their preferred colleges and courses from the available seat matrix. Once the choices are submitted, MCC will release the Round 2 seat allotment result based on the candidate’s NEET rank, category, and seat availability.
It is important to note that once a candidate joins a seat allotted in Round 2, they will not be eligible to participate in further rounds of counselling, as per the MCC guidelines.
