New Seats added for NEET PG Round 2 Counselling 2025: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) announced that seat matrix for NEET PG Round 2 Counselling 2025 now contains about 32,080 positions; 17,623 clear vacancies, 11,837 virtual vacancies, and an extra 2,620 seats that were added recently. This boost means roughly 32,000 places are up for grabs, a notable increase for applicants. The choice‑filling portal will remain open until December 9, 2025 (11:55 PM). Candidates who missed a seat in the first round or who want to apply fresh for All‑India Quota seats must complete their online application within this window. After preferences are submitted, the MCC will lock choices between 4 PM and 11:55 PM on the same day and publish the round‑two allotment results on December 12, 2025.
Applicants already allotted seats in round one need to report to their medical colleges for document verification. Official figures show that 26,889 candidates secured places in round one, with MD General Medicine being the top choice among high‑scoring candidates, followed by MD Radiodiagnosis and MD Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Applicants should keep their NEET PG scorecards, identity proof, and college admission letters handy, as verification can occur after results are declared.
Virtual vacancies are those held by round‑one participants who may decide to move to a higher‑ranked option in later rounds. With the new seats, the total number of available spots climbs to about 32,000, giving more candidates a chance to join clinical or non‑clinical programmes. The MCC has also reminded candidates to review participating colleges and updated seat categories before finalising preferences, to avoid last‑minute surprises.
All the information, including the updated seat matrix and the link to fill choices, is on the MCC website at mcc.nic.in . Candidates should act quickly, as the deadline is tight and no extensions are expected. Mark your calendar for December 12, when the allotment list will be released, and be ready to confirm admission within the timeframe.
