Oxford Advantage for CBSE Schools for Digitization of Education in India

Oxford University Press (OUP) is pacing up its initiative of digitization of education and has launched an integrated learning solution named Oxford Advantage for CBSE schools. The solution was launched on Friday, December 9, 2016.

The idea behind this solution was to provide a comprehensive educational toolkit that can provide education through themes and activities across all subjects. Managing Director of the Oxford University Press India, Sivaramakrishnan V said that the aim is to make learning more interactive. He further added that the current focus will be the curriculum for classes 1, 2 and 3 of the CBSE board for this session but the reach will be expanded for the higher classes.

Oxford Advantage will provide academic assistance to students, teachers as well as parents through lesson plans, test generator, question banks, assessment tools, teacher training and professional development modules. These features will help in both in-class learning, as well as at home through the apps that also help in keeping a track of a student’s progress throughout the year.

Sivaramakrishnan said that most of the teachers have a repulsion towards technology and that is why Oxford Advantage has been introduced to bridge the gap between education and technology for the benefit of students. He further added that in the coming 5 years, 20% of the Indian schools will move to this format of integrated education.

OUP also announced that it will soon introduce dictionaries in three more regional languages including Punjabi, Assamese and Kannada. India is the biggest market for OUP after the UK, US and Spain. OUP has been influencing schools to move towards modern education and believes that 10 years down the line, India will be their most important market.
