Polytechnic to Change Syllabus of 30 Courses

Technical Education Council has decided to bring changes in the syllabus of 30 courses of Polytechnic to make them more employment friendly. These changes will be applicable from 2016-2017 session. In a meeting at council office at Basmati, Lucknow, education council decided to bring these changes.

According to the secretary of Technical education council Mr.S.k.Singh, syllabus of Diploma in Civil Engineering, Diploma in Interior Design and Decoration, Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Diploma in Paint Technology, Diploma in Textile Design and 24 other 3 yearly courses will be changed to make them employment friendly.

Also, there will be some changes in yearly courses like PG Diploma in Fashion Technology, PG Diploma in Textile Design, PG Diploma in Advertising and Decoration, PG Diploma in Computer Application. Some new topics have been added in these courses.

Courses have been finalized and students from new session will be learning these new courses. Director of Research and Development Centre Kafil Ahmed, N.U Khan, V.P. Saraswat, Ashraf Ali, Arvind Singh, Vikas Pal, and other members of council and Principals of Polytechnics were also present at the meeting.

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) is the statutory body and a national-level council for technical education, under Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development. Established in November 1945 first as an advisory body and later on in 1987 given statutory status by an Act of Parliament, AICTE is responsible for proper planning and coordinated development of the technical education and management education system in India. The AICTE accredits postgraduate and graduate programs under specific categories at Indian institutions as per its charter.
